FINISHED IMAGES

My images have a very lonely feel to them, the backgrounds being somewhat depressing clash with the vibrance of the girl in with red veil symbolizing both importance and protection.  The rails in each image project a strong message of time, on 3 of the images the rails are all disappearing into wilderness and trouble, whereas in the last one, the tracks are clear and the number 50, graffitied on the wall behind celebrates a 50th anniversary of getting people struggling with heart disease back on track.

EDITING....

SCREEN SHOTS FROM EDITING:
This was  very dark image, using Photoshop's RAW Camera editor I was able to brighten it up by adding exposure and filling in light, also tweaking the sharpness to add more definition to the leaves.

In order to get all 4 images to match in terms of the model I had to adjust the red red tones, using the selective colour adjustment tool, I could brighten and darken and adjust the colours in the red tones, in this case only being the veil, to make each image look the same and look continuos.

Some of the images needed the levels adjusting, using RAW camera editor again, I could change the shadows, lights, darks ad highlights to make each image match up.

On one of the images I had to superimpose the number 50 onto the wall,  to do this I used the clone stamp tool and took a sample of the existing graffiti on the wall and dotting it in a separate layer to form a number 50.  Once complete I used the layer effects panel to let the number blend in with the masonry, I chose the 'lighten' effect.

photoshoot-no rain, but late model

My model was late (by about 2 hours), and so i had to deal with lack of light.... but, I like the way the photos came out,  in the dark the red veil really does pop!
these are the four photos I have chosen to use, and how I will edit them:
very dark: needs brightening - adjust red tones to match other images
need to use clone stamp tool (photoshop) to patch over the light space in the top right, also darken slightly and alter red tones to match other images.
use clone tool (photoshop) to remove the cone.  Crop image to even composition. alter red tones to match other images.
use straighten tool (photoshop) to straighten image, the rails are well off the photos horizon, also need to add the number 50, in graffiti to the wall in the back ground, darken image a little and alter red tones as done previously.

Captain's log: Shoot is tomorrow, I have everything I need, except for some Graffiti...

...I just hope it doesn't rain.

In terms of make up, there won't be any... i want my model to look as natural as possible, there will just be a little foundation/concealer etc.

Hair... Im still undecided...I picked a model with purple hair, as it looks great under the red fabric, just goes into a deeper red.  But i think ill just have it straightened and tied back.

Time of day...  3/4 o'clock,  the sun will be on its way down exaggerating all the shadows in the photo shoot area.

If it rains... stay under the 3 bridges above the railway, and work with what I can.

As for other garment, she will just be wearing simple black leggings and a black short sleeve shirt.

THE FABRIC FOR THE SHOOT!

The fabric I bought.  As you can see its fairly low opacity and I think will look great in the shoot.

I got 1.5m of the roll, so plenty there.  Only came to £4.50 too!

ABAKHAN

I visited Abakhan on wednesday to find a fabric that I could use.   After a long debate with my flat mates I came to the conclusion that the best ways to symbolise protection, safety and help would be to use something along the lines of a shawl combined with a robe or possible a very long veil.  I want it blow in the wind and look graceful, but protective at the same time.
So I went to find look for a decent fabric that you could both see through but stood out strongly, with a very harsh red. I came across these...
I liked this one a lot, but decided no, as it was just too much a deep red wine like colour, and wouldn't stand out well enough.
this was the perfect colour, but was just to thin.
Perfect.  Just cant see through it, and i need it like that so that the model is actually visible.

I couldn't find what I want so I asked a shop assistant and they said that they would be getting something thicker than the second one in soon,  as i really liked it and it was just way too thin, I decided to wait for that.

So today, I went back again, and found an even better one, not sure if it was the one they was talking about.  But its just right... I will post it next.

areas in location.

I have had a good think about the location in hand and decided up on 4 areas to take photographs... the following...
This area as it shows the rails coming out of the over grow, plus it has neutral colour surroundings which will make the red clothing really pop!, and it's a great wall in which to add "50" to it.
In this one, just under a foot bridge, i would turn a little more the the right, and cut out out the majority of the light in the left, letting the bush on the right take up a fair chunk of the composition. Again, the low colour will allow the red to look great.
I love this image so much,  it says 'there is hope for this garbage'.  The green grass and the open air give a more natural look.  As if it looks like the charity is helping lots.  Note the rails again (look great in this area).
And finally this one,  i would shoot this with a little less light, It looks troubled and confusing and very stressful (as if something is taking over someone's everyday lifestyle; heart disease), i want to represent the disease as strongly as possible here, whilst expressing the charities help and support through the red garment.
